Wheelchair accessibility
- The Colosseum and the Roman Forum are wheelchair accessible while the Palatine Hill is not.
- The Palatine Hill can be skipped and the itinerary can be adjusted to make it more accessible, however, this tour covers around 2.5 miles and includes cobblestones, uneven and natural terrain, stairs, and hilly areas that are tricky to maneuver.

Will I need to bring identification to enter the Colosseum?
Yes, original identification is required to be presented upon entry to the Colosseum for all visitors including children. These should be original documents, copies will not be accepted.
If children under 18 qualify for free tickets, why am I required to purchase a ticket for my child?
While children may enter for free, they are required to stand in the general entrance line if they do so. In order to save time and expedite the tour, we purchase regular tickets so they may enter as quickly as possible.
Do we have to buy tickets on-site?
For this tour, your Colosseum tickets are pre-purchased, which allows you to go directly to the security line where you will have your pre-purchased ticket scanned.
I have purchased the Roma Pass, can I use it on my Context tours?
You cannot use the Roma Pass on your Context tours. Roma Pass holders have to wait in a long line for the non-reserved public entrance to the Colosseum. In order to save time and expedite the tour, we purchase regular tickets so you may enter as quickly as possible.
Why does this tour only take place early in the morning and late in the afternoon?
In the summer, this tour has an early start or takes place late afternoon to beat the heat.

Dony did a great job sharing the history of Ancient Rome. I especially enjoyed the holographic photo cards that showed an overlay of Ancient Rome and what we can currently see. Dony definitely has a way of making history feel fun and relevant! This was a great tour, and I’d recommend it for anyone who is interested in ancient history and who enjoys walking through it!

Our tour guide, Carlo, was absolutely superb! He shared so much history during our tour that it felt like he took us back in time living in Ancient Rome. He was very passionate and quite interactive. He answered any questions we came up with and kept us engaged. Carlo is such a gentle soul and our time with him was quite lovely. He knew how challenging the tour would be for us given the high temps and the extremely large crowds but he was experienced in navigating the crowds in a friendly and positive disposition and maintained our interest despite these circumstances. We would HIGHLY recommend Carlo to anyone wanting to delve deep in Roman history—you are in for quite a treat!

Dony was an exceptional guide. He was entertaining and made the Colosseum and the Roman Forum come to life. I had toured the Colosseum before but learned so much more this time. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. The private tour was a splurge, but it was totally worth it. Highly recommend!
