Marijke Michielin

Art Historian in Paris
About Marijke

Marijke was born in Paris from a Dutch mother and an Italian father. She graduated from the Ecole du Louvre and the Sorbonne University in Paris and is now currently a PhD candidate in the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes in Paris.
In addition to Paris, she has lived a year in Amsterdam and has spent most of her summer vacations in Tuscany at her grand-parents house. Growing-up and living in such places, where the history and art background is very strong, is probably one of the reasons she chose to study art history. Her strong bond to both Italian and French cultures led her to investigate on the influence of Florentine art on French painting in the Seventeenth Century - the subject of her PhD dissertation. Marijke looks forward to sharing her passion and knowledge of art history and Paris to visitors on Context tours.
