Christine is a cultural anthropologist who grew up in Germany and returned to Berlin in 2017 after 20 years of service as a professor of anthropology at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. Since then she has been working in Berlin for German government agencies leading projects in the field of sustainability consulting for SMEs in the skilled crafts sector. She is fascinated by the stories of people living in Berlin throughout the last two centuries who created and shaped the history of the city and its many changes and identities pre and post-WWII, during the cold war period, and since the fall of the Berlin Wall. Her understanding of the history of Berlin mixes her recent discoveries and learnings with her past experiences in the city. When not visiting a new exhibition or cultural event to unwind and get inspired, she enjoys walking her dog in the forests and parks or rowing on the waterways surrounding Berlin with her rowing club teammates.
