About Asaf

In 2003, Asaf left Beijing to embark on a new academic path. After completing successfully one year of Hotel Management College in New Zealand, he moved to Lancashire to obtain a bachelor's degree in Ecotourism. Spending several months working in Ethiopia, in the spring of 2007 he chose move to Berlin. Since then, Asaf completed a master degree in Ecological Economics from Humboldt University, and in 2010 started tour guiding. Asaf is passionate about the language of history, and in 2021 he was awarded a PhD in dark tourism and interpretation of history, focusing on how tour guides interpret the dark chapters of Berlin’s history. In his tours, Asaf likes to connect the dots, allowing the history of the city to be expressed through geology, agriculture, architecture, and social development. As a keen runner and cyclist, Asaf loves living a city that takes these sports so seriously.
