Miyo's passion for learning from and connecting with people from different cultures began at age seven, during a year at a school in Massachusetts. This early experience sparked a lifelong interest in language learning and cultural exchange.
She holds a degree in Comparative Cultural Studies, with a focus on U.S.-Japan relations, and spent a year at Webster University studying Anthropology, Religious Studies, and Communication. After graduation, Miyo worked as an interpreter for the Indian government and as a tour guide, facilitating seamless and engaging interactions between international visitors and Japanese clients. Her fluency in English and Japanese allows her to bridge cultural gaps, offering guests meaningful and immersive experiences. In addition to guiding, she works as a certified pronunciation coach, helping Japanese business professionals improve their English communication skills. This role has enhanced her ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and cater to individual needs effectively.
Outside of work, she enjoys baking, cooking, sewing, and origami—hobbies that reflect her creativity and attention to detail, often serving as excellent conversation starters with international guests. With a lifelong commitment to cultural exchange, she is passionate about creating memorable and enriching experiences for all guests, ensuring they leave with lasting impressions and deeper cultural understanding.
