Maj is an artist, who lives and works in Copenhagen, with more than 10 years of experience working on projects that investigate urban spaces, landscapes, and community building both in Denmark and abroad. Maj works with traditional formats, like photography, installations, and art books, combined with relational actions, like workshops, performance, and walks. She has made several projects about Copenhagen's public spaces, including Algas cogito (think seaweed,) a workshop made for the harbour area of Copenhagen on the sea and macro algae, and Maps for Copenhagen, an alternative artistic guidebook to the city, in Danish, English, and Arabic.
Alongside her art practice, Maj works as a project manager developing art and culture policy. Her main focus is how the art field can become more sustainable environmentally, economically, and socially. This has given her comprehensive knowledge of the Danish culture and what's currently at stake.
