Originally from San Sebastián, Spain, Diana has lived in Washington, D.C., Florence and the French Basque Country before settling in Madrid. She holds a degree in geography and history with a focus on art history, as well as a master’s and a Ph.D in contemporary art. As a doctoral candidate at Universidad Complutense in Madrid, her research interests focused on material meanings in contemporary art. Diana teaches undergraduate courses in Modernism, Goya, Picasso, Dalí, and Miró at Suffolk University- Madrid Campus as well as graduate courses in visual arts media and techniques at Universidad Antonio de Nebrija. She has collaborated with the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum’s educational department and special events program, and has coordinated various international exhibitions for the Spanish Ministry of Public Works. She has published and delivered papers on her research interests and received various grants and awards. Trained as a painting conservator at the Istituto per l’Arte e il Restauro in Florence, Italy, she speaks fluent Italian and conversational French. She is passionate about experiential learning and object-based art history.
