Tour Description
Belgium’s gastronomic culture is a result of its geographic position, drawing inspiration from French finesse, Flemish hearty flavors, and taking a bit of inspiration from the generosity of its neighbors in Germany. These influences have birthed iconic local dishes such as moules-frites (mussels and fries), carbonnade flamande (beef stew), and some of the best crispy fries on the planet.

During this 3-hour discovery of Belgian cuisine with a local expert, you will have the opportunity to learn about Belgium’s most celebrated exports–beer, waffles, and of course, Belgian chocolate. However, you will also explore traditions lesser known abroad and enjoy a taste of some local and seasonal specialties unique to Brussels. Come hungry, as Belgian cuisine is not known to be a light affair.

Can this tour be adapted for dietary restrictions?
It is possible to adapt tastings for vegetarians, non-alcohol-drinkers as well as gluten/lactose intolerances. It is likely possible to adapt for vegans, but this means the whole tour would need to be adapted, as the venues would need to be adapted for vegan attendees.
We understand that some of our valued guests may have mobility concerns, and we want to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience throughout your tour. If there are any accessibility concerns that your tour guide will need to be aware of, please let our team know at the time of booking.

Is this tour wheelchair-friendly?
Brussels, as with most European cities, is still working on making the city completely wheelchair friendly. There are narrow sidewalks and cobblestone streets on this tour, however there are no major inclines and stairs can be avoided.

As noted in our review of the Introduction to Brussels tour, we did both tours with Francisco on the same day and had a great time, despite the off and on showers!
Not great. Seemed very disorganized. Our guide didn’t know much about the places we were eating. Some restaurants were displeased that we were sharing dishes among the four of us. Weren’t told why dishes were significant to Belgium.
