Apparently this was Context’s first ever tour in Krakow; I was shocked, it could have been the 1000th tour. Mateusz was fantastic. A+. He was personable and inclusive and he provided an insider’s scoop on some really cool spots that aren’t on your usual city tours. If you want a personal journey and a local perspective, I highly recommend Mateusz. We finished the tour chatting in an underground speakeasy/cabaret that had an authentic old Krakow feel. Amazing!
My guide for Intro to Krakow tour was Joanna, an art historian and curator with the National Museum. Context has found a treasure in her! She had special access to sites a standard tour guide could not have shown me, and she carefully cherry-picked the venues we visited to maximize our time. The tour was as supposed to last 2.5 hours, but she saw I was interested and went well into “overtime.” Touring with her was an academic experience that I really enjoyed.
