Lecture Description
Paris is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, and for a good reason. From the Eiffel Tower to Sacré-Cœur, France's capital is full of well-known, world-famous tourist destinations. However, Paris is much more than grand monuments and museums. It's a place full of life, history, and culture. In this talk, we'll journey through the City of Lights away from the crowds of tourists, and discover Paris like a local, beyond its iconic landmarks.
Meet Your Expert
Margaux

Born and raised in the south of France to a perfumer father, Margaux Hofstedt holds a Masters of Science in Flavors and Fragrances. She is a University Professor at IAU College Aix-en-Provence, and a lecturer at the Université Européenne des Senteurs & Saveurs (European University of Fragrances and Flavors). Margaux is fascinated by the connections between food, fragrances, humanity, and culture. She also works in France as a guide.

The French capital offers plenty of under-the-radar alternatives to its most famous monuments and museums, such as secret passages, covered markets, lively and artsy areas, hidden gardens, bucolic paths, historic mansions, a steampunk subway station, the most beautiful Starbucks Coffee Store in the world and still many more. Paris is a city with an incredible depth of culture, full of hidden gems. Uncover these treasures with us as we explore one of the liveliest places in the world. Led by an expert on French culture and local Parisian, this lecture will look beyond Paris's most famous destinations to showcase the breadth of experiences the city has to offer. Whether it's your fifth or first visit to Paris, this lecture will offer the knowledge and inspiration to enjoy your time in Paris to the fullest.
