Half French, half British, and having lived in Amsterdam for a long time, Valérie has her roots in various European cultures. She has a Bachelor's in Sociology and a Master's in Art History, which helped her develop a keen interest in the interactions between art, the artist, and society. After studying 17th and 19th century Dutch art history, she conducted art historical research, and worked as a curator at the Museum Singer Laren for several exhibitions.
Over the last eight years, Valérie has worked for various galleries and international auction houses as an expert in Old Masters & 19th century art and is now determined to commit her time to sharing the history, art and essences of the Provence with all passionate enthusiasts. Outside her role as a Context travel guide, she dedicates her hours to food and wine, hiking, flea markets, and her PhD research about female agency in 17th century art production and patronage. She is fluent in English, French, Dutch, and Spanish.
