Szabolcs holds an MA in Art History and Cultural Anthropology from the University ELTE, Budapest. He also received his PhD in Art History from the ELTE. Szabolcs is a senior curator at the Hungarian National Museum, in the Historical Picture Gallery. His main field of interest is Baroque art in Central Europe and Habsburg studies. He is also a member of the Research Group for Baroque Ceiling Painting in Central Europe and has worked as a scholarly guide in the Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest.
