About Stefan
Stefan (pronounced 'Stare-fun') is a born and bred Singaporean with lived experiences in Norway and Australia. He recently completed his PhD in Design at the Queensland University of Technology, with the simplified title of 'Tuning-in' to music to 'tune out' on-the-go. In fact, his research was sparked by personal connection and empathy with those who suffer from the daily drone of noisy and stressful public commutes to and fro work. Curious about an immersive music experience that enhances your wellbeing while you're on public commute, simply by selecting appropriate music wearables and certain choices of music? He'll be more than happy to share a few pointers for you to experiment on your own! .............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. Stefan now works as a freelance tourist guide and applied researcher with interests in the domain of Design, Health and Wellbeing. Stefan is drawn towards how spatial and sustainable design of concert halls, buildings and public spaces can enhance one's wellbeing through their senses and interactions within these environments. This is also in line with Singapore's vision to become a City in Nature and a more inclusive society for persons of all-abilities to flourish. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ He aims to design bespoke tours whereby guests not only touch-base with our rich cultures, ethnic practices and heritage across our ethnic quarters and places of worship, but a chance to relate these narratives with their lived experiences through reflective questions, symbols, use of appropriate interactive artefacts, and so forth. At the end of experience, he'll be more than happy to leave you recommendations of special events, concerts that showcase the best of Singapore Arts and Culture, as well cafes and restaurants that foodies can check out!
