Born in a small town close to Lake Como, Sonia moved to Sicily during her childhood, and quickly became fond of the island's nature and food tradition. Over the years, she acquired extensive knowledge of Sicilian cuisine. Most of that knowledge came from spending countless hours in the kitchen with her mother, cooking away delicious recipes from the Sicilian tradition. Sonia has a postgraduate degree in science of tourism, with a focus on history. After her graduation, Sonia decided to dedicate herself to guiding on a full-time basis. She is now a licensed guide, and leads walks in Catania and around Mount Etna, sharing her knowledge of Sicilian food tradition with visitors, and treating them to an unforgettable experience.
