Romy is an arthistorian and educator working with Amsterdam (art)historical museums and organisations like the Rijksmuseum, Maritime museum, Unesco Canal Heritage and the Van Gogh Museum since 2013. She travelled a lot, but is passionate about showing both the beauty and background stories of Amsterdam, her favorite city in the world! She specializes in 17th and 19th century art and history, with a specific interest in rebelious artists and stories where art/history and nature come together (for example: flowersymbolism in 17th century still lifes and “green” history details of Amsterdam). She loves working with kids and families and discovering ways to make tours and museums accessible (and enjoyable!) for all ages and abilities.
