Raquel was wonderful! She was extremely knowledgeable about the foods of Mexico and also knew her way around the Jamaica food market, where we tasted a wide variety of foods. I had also made a special request to learn more about Mexican chocolate: Raquel went out of her way to bring me to several special places, such as the chocolate museum and a couple of chocolatiers and cafes that specialized in cacao. She was extremely personable and a joy to spend the afternoon with!
Raquel was an outstanding tour guide. She captured our attention immediately. The market seemed to be off the beaten path but once inside we understood why she had chosen it. Her knowledge and understanding of spices and how they are used in Mexican cooking was outstanding. The vendors we visited awere all very welcoming to us. When the tour was finished she helped us get an Uber to retake us back to our hotel. A very worthwhile tour.
We enjoyed Raquel’s knowledge about Mexican food. She knew her way around the market and made it come alive. Additionally, we appreciated her sharing her views on Mexican life.
