Monica completed her Ph.D in 2009 in history of art and architecture from the University of Virginia, specializing in the Italian Renaissance period. As a writer, she is interested in the literary culture of Florence as well as the city's art and architecture. Before coming to Florence, Monica lived in Rome, Venice, New York City, and Charlottesville, Virginia.
Monica was very knowledgeable and a great guide. She gave us a very good overview of Florence. She also gave us good recommendations for places to see and eat. We tried her Four Lions restaurant and was not disappointed, it was wonderful.
Monica was thorough and interesting. She adjusted the talk for our interests and pace and took the time to counsel us on other places to go and places to eat. Monica is warm, personable and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with her.
Excellent introduction to what makes Florence unique.
