Exceptionally well curated intro to Lyon and its history.
I hate to leave a less than satisfactory review because we have taken several Context Tours before, in many cities and have always loved the experience. However we were underwhelmed with Marie-Claire and would not recommend this tour. Several interesting facts about Lyon were left out that we learned about later. We passed by several important buildings and I felt that if I had not asked about them, she would not have mentioned them. In general, Marie Claire seems very knowledgeable about Lyon, architecture, and art, but was not enthusiastic to convey this information in a way that made it interesting. She repeatedly asked us what we wanted to see, and was willing to tailor the tour to our wishes, but we were not able to answer because we don't know the city. That is why we take a tour, to learn what is interesting about the history, architecture, culture, and food of a city. The tour felt like a mediocre tour from another lower quality company. For the cost of Context, we expected much better. Perhaps Marie-Claire had a bad day that day. The weather was miserably cold and rainy, and the rain arrived earlier than predicted.
