Mariana was born and raised in Mexico City. She received a Master's in History from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and is currently studying a PhD in the same university. Mariana is a member of the research group Women's Writings, at the Research Institute of University and Education, whose mission is to rescue Mexican women’s writings from the 16th to the 20th century through editing and publishing. Mariana has a passion for learning and rethinking the past through different sources that help imagine history in unexpected ways. She has taught history to middle school and high school students. Her other passions include reading, writing, and photography. Mariana is also co-creator and editor of the online magazine Pluvia, a space for inspiration, creativity, and conversation.
