Maki Mogi was born in Tokyo and raised in Kamakura.
She has a master's degree in education, specializing in children's literature from the University of Utah in the U.S.
She loves dogs, beer, and playing tennis. She is a friendly local guide who loves Kamakura so much.
Kamakura is rich in nature has inherited the culture and spirit of the samurai, adopted Western culture, flourished as a recreational area and vacation home, and is now one of Japan's most popular tourist destinations.
In Kamakura, three religions, Buddhism, Shintoism, and Christianity, coexist in mutual respect, and together they hold ceremonies to mourn the victims of the earthquake. This is the charm and uniqueness of Kamakura and what she loves most about it.
