Laura has studied Classics at the University of Palermo, specializing in Literature and Philosophy. Her Master’s thesis on the Sicilian writer Pirandello was later published. Laura never stopped studying, taking courses in Medieval Art and Byzantine Art, which is of particular interest to her. She has worked in the department of Archaeology, at the University of Palermo, and has also taught Italian, Latin and Greek in a classic high school in Palermo. Having studied the folklore and popular traditions of Sicily, she worked for the RAI (the national Italian television and radio network), presenting a series of programs relating to Religious festivals, the history of the Albanian diaspora in Sicily, traditional songs, and so forth. Over the years she has accompanied many illustrious visitors, among them Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, and David Rockefeller.
