Jonathan considers himself lucky to have lived in Scotland's capital since 1987, when he arrived to study for his Master's Degree in French and European History at Edinburgh University. After graduation, he started a career in journalism. Writing mainly for the Scottish media, with the occasional foray into radio and television, he covered lifestyle and the arts. His main beats were rock and pop, comedy and food writing, and he was fortunate to have the opportunity to interview everyone from refugees to rock stars. Jonathan enjoys guiding so much that he studied to become a Blue Badge guide with the Scottish Tourist Guide Association and guiding is now his full-time job. In both his personal and professional lives, he is interested in history, the arts and food culture. He also loves showing guests around the remarkable city of Edinburgh and sharing its unique stories.
