John is a lifelong learner with broad interests in history and culture. Lucky for him, Washington, DC offers endless opportunities to explore a wide variety of subjects -- from architecture to military history to the workings of government, and everything in between. He enjoys guiding curious travelers through Washington in a way that bridges America's past with its present, and maybe even gives some guidance on the future.
John is a member of the Guild of Professional Tour Guides of Washington, DC. He has lived in the Washington area for the past thirteen years. He grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania and studied history at Boston College. Before guiding he worked for a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening democracy around the world. John currently spends his non-guiding hours with his wife and two young sons. He loves to travel and explore new places, whether close to home or far away.
