Jelena Savic is an an architect and designer based in Porto and passionate about this city with a soul. She is a city and museum researcher and urban wanderer and deeply involved in the subject of urban heritage both as professional and for her own enjoyment. Jelena’s main research interest is in the field of cultural heritage studies. She obtained a PhD in Architecture, in the scientific area of Preservation of Built Heritage, has worked in a heritage preservation institute and taught the history of architecture as an undergraduate course. She has recently completed a 4-year research project on the sense(s) of Porto, bringing together the diverse perspectives of urban history and heritage, geography, contemporary culture, architecture and design. Some of these findings and curiosities will be shared with the Context tour guests! Currently, Jelena teaches Heritage and Design at Instituto Politécnico do Porto, and collaborates in the ArchitecTours Porto project and in CAMOC – ICOM International Committee for Museums of Cities.
