Born in Stamford, CT, Ellen has lived in the Washington DC area since 1973. For over 35 years she worked for Ernst & Young, where she developed and implemented learning programs and managed major conferences and workshops.
After retiring from EY as an associate director in 2008, Ellen she began her tour guiding career. She is a Certified Master Guide with the Guild of professional Tour Guides of Washington DC. She loves being a tour guide and is committed to continually enhancing her own skills as well as that of the guiding professional as a whole. As such, she is immediate past president of National Federation of Tourist Guide Associations-USA and was a long-time member of the Guild‘s board currently serving as the co-chair of the Government and Tourism committee.
Outside of active guiding, Ellen is former board member of the Washington DC Jewish Community Center and former member of the quality committee of the Foundation of Group Homes. Ellen is an avid theatergoer. She is a long-time member and former co-chair of the Theater J Council, former chair of the Arena Stage Guild and former member of the board of The Welders, a playwriting cooperative. She is also an avid Washington Nationals and Capitols fan!
