David is an Oxford graduate in human biology and genetics. He qualified as an official London guide (they are known as Blue Badge Guides) in his 20s, then put the badge in a drawer for years and pursued other careers.
These included translator at the Presidency in Yaoundé, Cameroun; reporte ans producer with BBC Radio, British Armed Forces Radio (BFBS), Swiss Radio and Austrian Radio; and General Manager Latin America with ABC-owned Worldwide Television News (WTN).
He is a member of the Victory Services Club (https://www.vsc.co.uk/). He likes music from many countries; old English and Welsh county maps; Georgian grandfather clocks; and languages - he speaks good French and Spanish, not too bad German, a smattering of Arabic, Japanese and Romanian, and is working on his Haitian Creole.
Other hobbies include cycling, swimming, gardening and, most important of all, spending time with his several children (two of whom are also tour guides) and many grandchildren, two of whom [not in the photograph!] do Harry Potter film location walks in London.
