Charlotte Dennick, a retired elementary and secondary school administrator, was born and raised in Montreal. She holds multiple degrees, both in history and in education. Currently, a Student Teaching Supervisor at McGill University’s Faculty of Education, she combines her educational background with that of mentor/guide. She has united her love of history and her background in education, in her work as a senior docent at the McCord Canadian History Museum and at the Chateau Ramezay Museum. Both institutions focus on the history of Montreal and Quebec. On her Context tours and in the museums, she shares with visitors the fascinating and complex story of how and why both Montreal and Quebec occupy a unique place in Canada and in today’s North America.
Loved her tour and the historical knowledge she presented about the history of Montreal
A tour is a lot more interesting when a native gives it, but even more remarkable when a natural story teller does. Charlotte was/is an educator, so the history was researched and organized, crafted into a story with context, not just a recitation of facts. Her preparation helped us understand why Montréal became the city it is today, not just a random list of events and landmarks. It made the source of Montreal’s reputation as a welcoming, inclusive world class city very evident. And Charlotte herself is a delight. We were very satisfied by our experience.
This tour was exceptional. Charlotte is an amazingly informed, articulate guide.
