Carlos holds a PhD in history, with a focus on the history of Spain during the 20th century. He was recently a visiting scholar at Juniata College (PA). Following the completion of his BA, with a specialization in Latin American history, he was a graduate student in the U.S. and Germany and completed his MA on Islamic minorities in Spanish history. Carlos teaches in Sevilla, at the UPO International Center and at the CIEE Study Center. He is bilingual in English and Spanish and is fluent in German. His teaching and research have dealt primarily with the city of Sevilla, where he has resided most of his life.
