Alexandra Nicolaides teaches and writes about modern and contemporary art. Born in New York City, she grew up in London, Brussels and Berlin, before moving back to New York twenty years ago. She currently teaches at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York. She previously worked as a Museum Educator at the Brooklyn Museum teaching family programs, and as an Associate Director for an international contemporary art collection, assisting projects across the United States, as well as in cities around the world, including Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Abu Dhabi.
