Greta was a fabulous guide. She is terrifically knowledgeable, engaging, and an excellent story teller. She helped us decode the symbolism of statuary and appreciate the significance of the art and architecture of the Castle district, all within the context of ongoing efforts to define Hungarian national identity since roughly the year 1000. Greta was also incredibly responsive to our particular interests and fabulous with our questions, going deeper wherever we inquired. She's a spectacular guide and truly brought the Castle District and Budapest alive for us.

Gabor was fantastic. He did a wonderful job of helping us to form a coherent picture of the political, cultural and architectural history of Budapest from Roman times through to the present, providing fascinating windows into how they interconnect. From illuminating stories of King Stephen's reign, the Ottoman occupation, the long period of Habsburg rule and the transformation of Pest in the latter half of the nineteenth century, to the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the rise of Hungarian fascism, Nazi occupation and the devastation of jewry in Hungary, through the period of Soviet control and ultimately independence, we came away with a rich appreciation of the story of Budapest and how it is written into the built environment. This was a tour that brought Budapest to life for us and deeply enriched our understanding of the city.
Szonja was wonderful! Perfect guide for our group. Brilliant and knowledgeable, and was able to go very deeply into the context and history of the Jewish tradition in the country and in Budapest. She also offered many good local insider tips and suggestions :-)
