Josh demonstrated strong local knowledge and flexibility in taking us to places we wanted to see.
Alexandra was fantastic! We were a group of 4 with a mixed amount of historical knowledge and very little art knowledge, and she tailored our tour perfectly in order to give us a very different and unique perspective on the exhibits and pieces we saw. She was friendly, engaging and very responsive to our interests and our questions. We particularly loved the way the tour felt like we were just having a discussion, and we could all take part and contribute in different ways. Two of our group members were quite unsure about how much they would enjoy and get out of the tour, as they're not big museum people, but they found themselves totally immersed and interested throughout the entire thing, which was a real testament to Alexandra's approach.
The Gilded Age Tour was very interesting and enjoyable. Michele took the time to answer any questions that we asked during the tour. She also had pictures on her iPad of some of the interiors of the homes. We were abele to see some of the items the next day at the Met Museum which made it a more memorable visit to the museum. We also stopped for a break at a delightful coffee shop which was a true hidden gem on the upper East Side. Michele was very knowledgeable and personable which made the tour very enjoyable.
