Personal Favorites from a Local Guide

Ester is a Barcelona native and grew up cooking with her mother and grandmother. Their love of local traditions and ingredients laid the basis of her deep knowledge of Catalan cuisine.

Lluerna | Menu | Location
Traditional Catalan cuisine

“You'll have to use the metro system to get there. It's safe and it's fast, and from the station where you exit, it's a five minute walk. When you arrive, you'll have fair prices, a nice atmosphere, and a small number of people. It's not a huge restaurant, it's feels like a private experience run by husband and wife. The husband is the chef, his wife is a sommelier. They have options for vegetarians and vegans, and everything is farm to table local. It's really great to discover everything seasonal we have nearby.”

Terraza Miramar
| Menu | Location
Mediterranean cuisine with stunning views

“This is an excellent place to eat seafood, they prepare amazing rice dishes as well. But there are options as well for people who enjoy other things, like Mediterranean cuisine, salads, maybe some meat. It's great for everybody. I like to go for lunch; the location is amazing because it gives you views of the marina of the port.”

During our recent trip to Barcelona, my wife and I joined the Barcelona Tapas Food Tour, and it quickly became one of the best experiences of our visit. A major reason for that was our fantastic guide, Teresa. Teresa immediately made us feel welcome and at ease. She was incredibly knowledgeable about Barcelona’s culinary scene and had a real passion for sharing the city’s rich food traditions. Throughout the tour, she gave us excellent recommendations on which tapas to try, explaining the unique history and flavors behind each dish. Her enthusiasm for food was contagious, and we found ourselves learning so much while enjoying some truly delicious tapas. Teresa took us to some amazing spots, each offering its own take on classic dishes. Thanks to her expert suggestions, we were able to taste a variety of flavors that we might have missed on our own. Her insights into Barcelona’s food culture added an extra layer of depth to the experience, making it even more memorable. If you're a food lover visiting Barcelona, I highly recommend taking this tour with Teresa. Her knowledge, warmth, and great recommendations made it an unforgettable experience!
Maria was very personable and passionate about the food scene in Barcelona. She took us to some amazing local spots where we had the opportunity to enjoy delicious tapas and local spirits. She sprinkled in some history and culture and showed us one of the local markets along the tour. We definitely recommend this tour and Maria to others, it’s a great way to kick off your visit to Barcelona!
Our family of three - myself, my husband and our 21 year old daughter - had a great night with Vicky despite the pouring rain! She kept us going and smiling the whole time! And took us to four different places in the area. We enjoyed all and did not go hungry!! We ate and drank well! We definitely would not have understood tapas without her explanations and guidance. We took that knowledge and used it again and again during our time Barcelona. Even our daughter who had been in Barcelona for two months learned a lot and explored a new area of the city. I highly recommend this tour and Vicky. I would suggest doing it at the beginning of your visit too because you can use everything you learn to make your entire stay more enjoyable.
